Bracket

After over 200 days of voting, r/Maine has decided that PORTLAND is the best town in Maine, with BELFAST being the runner-up!

Above is the bracket of the 128 towns that made it to the second-stage of the tournament. Switch tabs at the bottom of the sheet to see the play-in results from the first stage of the tournament. Every incorporated Maine town was included.

Methodology: The bracket consisted of 128 of Maine’s best towns. However, Maine has 456 towns (including a few plantations that are sufficiently well-known). To determine the 128 towns, I seeded 64 towns (large enough or touristy enough to be deserving of a spot in the bracket) and there were play-in rounds (second google-sheet) to determine the other 64 spots, each round having 6 towns. Once we had the bracket of 128 towns, a daily poll narrowed it down until only one town remained.

Voting: Polls were released daily on r/Maine to let the community of Maine-lovers decide on the best Maine town!
